Products WE  love.

There have been times I've been asked to share where we bought some of the times we enjoy so much, so here they are!  Some of absolute favorites!  I do need to let you know that in 2023 I became an Amazon Associate and as an Amazon Associate I earn a small %  from qualifying purchases, granted, it is barely enough to buy a coffee in most cases!  Though it is one more way to support the challenges and help keep them going.

Gracie Girl is my sweetheart, now I know that not all horses can go in a bitless, my big gelding, not even going to try as he gets quite strong, though my sensitive mare do actually better in a bitless than in a traditional bridle and bit.  I do still have my pinchless bit that I ride them in on occasion though I love the look and feel of this bitless.  I have two other colors and styles though this one matches Grace's mane and fore lock so much, she just looks so cute in it and she does love it.  I swear she relaxes when she sees that it is the bitless that she will be wearing.  I'm so glad I decided to give bitless a try for our mares.  Although there is a small percentage of #commissionsearned I do only recommend products that I have purchased and that I love.

This water bottle has great reminders on it and my family loved it so much that my daughter wanted a sunflower one and Jim wanted a trails one- so of course I even found one more for my elliptical.  They clean easily and there are many styles of them to choose from.  Make great gifts also!  Mother's Day, Bday, Father's Day etc.

Cashel Flymask.png

The thing that Grace loves about this fly mask is that her forelock is free and not squashed inside the mask where it can get lodged against her eyes.  That issue is gone with this sturdy Cashel Crusader fly mask.  I swear she doesn't want me to take it off.  Yes, I did order her the orange one.  AND YES, Jim and my mom made fun of her carrot ears... but, hey- she's bug free and happy.  I did order her sister the pink one and it just arrived today, JR has a purple one on the way also.  I am using the fly boots that match these and they so far seem superior to the ones we used last year.

What we love about this fly mask:

  • Forelock FREEDOM! is #1

  • Bright colors (easy to find if it goes missing)

  • Double velcro closure.

  • Ample room for ears.

  • Firm mesh keeps the mesh away from her eyes.

  • Soft material around nose and poll/jowl area

The only thing I would change about this mask is that it is a little roomy around the noseband area- so far I have not seen any bugs get in this area, though I do think they could improve it by making this part somewhat elastic.  Am happy with this mask & am ordering more, and as always, although there is a small percentage of #commissionsearned I do only recommend products that I have purchased myself and that I love.

Grace and actually most of our herd are getting older all of them are teenagers with the exception of Joey.  Last year I started using fly boots to reduce stomping and this year decided to try a different brand as the ones from last year did not stay upright on the legs by the end of summer.

The things we love about Cashel fly boots:

  • Shaped to the horse's leg anatomy.

  • Multiple rugged closures.

  • Sturdy Material

  • Bright colors make it easy to find if lost.

Cashel offers many size options, and a few different color options.  Thanks for considering shopping through my Amazon Affiliates and as always, although there is a small percentage of #commissionsearned I do only recommend products that I have purchased myself and that I love.

hoof stuff 2

This STUFF is hoofing amazing!  Thankfully I have not needed it recently though there was a time when I was battling some deep central sulcus thrush and nothing, I mean nothing was helping at all.   What a helpless feeling it was to try to get that particular mare's hooves on the mend.  I don't even remember how I found Hoof Stuff by Red Horse, though thank God, truly that I did.  It works like a miracle and even though I have not had to deal with it in years, I always keep Hoof Stuff in the barn just in case.  WE LOVE this product.

Info about Hoof Stuff by Red Horse:

  • Natural materials to help protect your horse's hooves against microbial infection.

  • Supports and promotes healthy hoof through active ingredient helping to protect against white line cracks and central sulcus separation.

  • Sticky consistency with fibers help Hoof Stuff stay in place.

hoof stuff

Our pastures are pretty soft soil and it definitely does not tend to create hard hooves, combine that with the trails we ride are either sand or rocks - our horses needed some help to toughen up their hooves.  Then we found this Keratin Hoof Gel and it has helped immensely.

The things we love about Keratex:

  • Helps toughen hooves

When I do need to use a bit, it is always some version of a Myler Pinchless bit.  I will never forget the demo that someone gave me about how a traditional snaffle bit pinches in the middle and often at the side, how they often have very different movement left and right due to the nature of the joint.   I have been a fan of the pinchless bits by Myler since I learned about them in 1993, so for 30 years.  They are designed to sit well in the horse's mouth and to give tongue pressure relief.  This bit features

  • Mouthpiece has Independent Side Movement

  • Stainless Steel Eggbutt without Hooks

  • Stainless Steel Wide Ported Barrel Copper Inlay Mouth

  • USEF dressage legal (1/2012)

There are several styles of bits by Myler on Amazon, they offer many size options, and as always, although there is a small percentage of #commissionsearned I do only recommend products that I have purchased myself and that I love.

No one wants to deal with a hoof abscess, though if you have your horse sidelined by hoof abscesses this  8"X16" poultice pad by 3M is a winner in the forefront of treating your horse.  Easily cut into three parts to treat a hoof three times.  This stuff is kinda miraculous.  It is always on hand in my barn and has been for over 25 years, and as always, although there is a small percentage of #commissionsearned I do only recommend products that I have purchased myself and that I love.

The product was first brought over to USA from Europe in the early eighties as it was found it to be a tremendous product, easy to use, easy to remove, very economical and extremely useful for a variety of lower limb problems.

Sony 7 iii

This camera is a dream come true.  For years I felt like Canon was misleading it's customer base, they released cameras that had low number of focus points, some models that did well in a set of conditions though not other sets- it was like you had to buy 2 or 3 of their cameras to cover different situations.  Then Sony changed all of that by putting everything into one camera.  I LOVE THIS CAMERA.  Instead of the 11 focal points on the sensor that my Canon had, now I had 93% of the whole sensor with focal points.  There are many great features to the Sony AR7 III & yes there are newer versions now, though honestly- this one is still epic.  Highly recommend, am definitely a Sony gal now, they do not hold back tech from their customers- they bring the heat to the stage by upping the game. LOVE IT.
